Evolving Agriculture

The Journey of Our Farm and Feedlot Operations

Initiated in 2000, our farm operations have evolved step by step, reflecting a journey of continuous growth and diversification. At present, the farm flourishes with hay crops, serving both our livestock’s fodder needs and the market demand through sales. Additionally, we have embraced the cultivation of irrigated and dryland cotton, a venture that not only amplifies our agricultural output but also showcases our adaptability to different cultivation methods.

Before 2020, corn was a significant crop on our farm, later stored in bunkers as silage to support the Lorraine feedlot operations. This practice was instrumental in adding value to our cattle, ensuring a steady supply of nutritious feed, especially during variable seasons when pasture supply dwindled. The feedlot, a critical facet of our farming ecosystem, benefitted immensely from this silage supply, thereby bolstering our capacity to maintain a healthy livestock population even in less favourable seasons.
